Roman Jäger’s wines are exemplary, structured around a precise fruitiness and vivacity, consistency and clarity. He wants to enhance the specific authentic terroir notes of his terraces in his wines and the Federspiel achieves this. The Steinriegl Riesling from the Wachau is characterized by tightness and minerality. We find this wine to be compact, steely, crisp and exhilarating, bone-dry but so refreshing. Lime zest, herbs, and a dry, salty minerality.
