Vertus is probably the most famous village in all of Champagne surpassed only by Chetillons, the hillside gets a little more sunshine for an expressive style. The 3g/L dosage and 5 years of lees contact works splendidly with the tropical aromas. Apricot, peach, nectarine and banana split. Lemon balm, green apples, toasted pears and dried candied grapefruit are chalky and expansive. A crazy price for vintage Champagne from Versus.
