The village of Condrieu grows some of the world’s best Viognier, which says a lot because it is a tough grape to ripen the phenolics and sugars evenly. Lionel Faury makes a pure, balanced wine that is like walking through a farmers’ market on a sunny day. Flavors of melon, flowers, apples, apricot, peaches, tangerine zest and a slight hint of vanilla. This is not all fruit though, light cedar box and herb add to a clean minerally finish.
