Jean-Marc Roulot “Vireuils” Meursault 2020

Jean-Marc Roulot is a lieu-dit specialist in Meursault, having begun bottling each site separately before it became popular to do so. That includes not only premiers crus but also village-level climats, such as Vireuils. The wine juxtaposes a waxy richness recalling lemon oil with a flinty, focused, tightly wound mouthfeel. It is certain to unwind a bit with a few hours' aeration while young, and will truly blossom with several years in bottle. -Kermit Lynch
