Elephant Hill Chardonnay Marlborough Hawke’s Bay 2022

Elephant Hill Winery has put a focus on Chardonnay, claiming it as their flagship grape variety, bringing the grape to a level that rivals most throughout the world. The winemaking is evident: Wild yeasts, 11 months in oak (25% new) on fine lees, and malolactic fermentation is blocked. Green apples, pears, herbs, citrus blossoms and grapefruit-like acidity. Full bodied with big acid for a Chardonnay that fills out the palate but also “rips & grips”.
