As the new owners of the USA’s smallest AVA, Rootdown has big plans of introducing new grapes, while maintaining one of the vineyards specialties, Riesling. The Riesling from this vineyard always has the petrol qualities typically found in the Mosel. The 2022 bears medium weight from a touch of residual sugar, but the laser-beam acidity elevates it to “dry” status. Caramel apples, lime zest, lemon curd, exotic spice and kumquat.
