Yvon Clerget Volnay Carelle sous la Chapelle

Thibaud Clerget has taken on his father’s winery and is seen as one of the most exciting of Burgundy’s young producers. From a mix of 25- and 55-year-old vines on the chalky Premier Cru site, Carelle sous la Chapelle. 12 months in 20% new French oak gives the wine pepper, nutmeg, and clove aromas and grainy tannins to back up the ripe redcurrants, strawberries, and raspberries as well as the floral, perfumed nose. Complex and inviting with a long, long finish.
