Yacoubian-Hobbs Areni Red Armenia 2015

This is the second vintage we’ve had of this new project from Armenia, and the wine’s even better. The grape is Areni, which has over hundreds of years adapted to the harsh local continental climate. Here it produces a wine that has a perfumed nose of game, earth, raspberry, red cherry, smoke, sweet spices, and dried fruits, followed by a palate with a grainy, slightly chewy texture, high acidity, a great structure, and a long, smooth finish.
