Yacoubian-Hobbs Areni Red Armenia 2014

Armenia is where the oldest winery in the world has been found – 6,000 years old and a stone’s throw from the location of this winery. The Yacoubian brothers have teamed up with Paul Hobbs to revive the tradition of Armenian winemaking. Areni is a native grape, its thick skins ideal for the harsh continental climate. This first vintage indicates great things ahead: an attractive floral nose, ripe red fruits, backed up by grainy tannins and fresh acidity. Think Pinot crossed with Syrah.
