  1. Baron de Magana Navarra Red Blend 2011

Baron de Magana Navarra Red Blend 2011

It’s always nice to find a winery in which their current release has some age on it. A sensational effort, it boasts a dense ruby/purple color as well as abundant notes of blackberries, crème de cassis, camphor and flowers, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, tremendous lushness and purity, and a beautifully textured, round, generous finish. This sexy, supple wine should drink well for 3-5+ years. Learn More
  2. Remelluri Gran Reserva Rioja 2011

    Remelluri Gran Reserva Rioja 2011

Winemaker Telmo Rodriguez is nothing short of a genius. He has been greatly influenced by his father Jaime and his wines are a blend of classic Spanish and modern wine making. 2011 was quite a hot vintage in Rioja and the wines that resulted are big with bold fruit flavors. The micro-climate in which the grapes are grown, coupled with the oak aging gives the wine flavors of plum, blackberry, walnut, herbs and leather. Learn More
  3. Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs Champagne 2011

Louis Roederer Blanc de Blancs Champagne 2011

2011 was a difficult year for champagne, but chardonnay did well, and as usual, great houses make great wine in bad years. The 2011 was made from the two grand crus Le Mesnil sur Oger and Avize, which were picked a little later, with 30% fermented in oak. This resulted in a biscuity, brioche richness that is a dream to sip. Flavors of meyer lemon and pear are highlighted by an elegant mousse texture. This bubbly is all about finesse, polish, and grace. Learn More
