Up Mt Veeder we go, 2000 feet high, to "Wildcat Vineyard." Winemaker: Phil Steinschreiber (20+ years at Diamond Creek). Cold soak, barreled down to 100% new French oak to finish ferment. This is BIG & RICH, but not overbearing. Black cherry liqueur, cassis, cocoa, tobacco, bay leaf, iron and fennel. Firm acid and chunky tannins that soften with air. 335 cases.
