Walter Hansel Pinot Noir "Cahill Lane Vineyard" Russian River Valley 2013

Farmer/winemaker Stephen Hansel planted these vines with his father (Walter) in 1989 and learned his craft from neighbor and cult Pinot Noir producer Tom Rochioli. Taste ripe plums, black cherries and raspberries balanced by black tea, dried herbs and earth. Rich and smooth but not over the top. Tasty alone, brilliant with roasted chicken.
