From Südburgenland, where the warmer climate produces some of Austria’s best reds. Christoph Wiesler is the young, dynamic winemaker. He owns 14 of the region’s 500ha, and is only one of three producers to farm organically. This is a great introduction to Blaufränkisch: medium-bodied with a firm tannic structure and high acidity, ripe but restrained raspberry and strawberry aromas, and a herbal, cocoa mouthfeel.
