Vine Cliff Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2013

After 10 years this wine is in a good place right now, as 2013 was a vintage known for firm tannins.  Well structured with plenty of life ahead, all the parts of the wine have integrated flawlessly over the years.  Earth is the primary note  as the fruit has faded, with dark leather, cassis, stewed blackberry, vanilla, thyme, and oregano. Cigarbox and dark cocoa are held together by spry acid and polished tannins, providing a lengthy finish to the silky mid-palate.
