Uncharted "Proprietor's Blend" Coombsville, Napa Valley 2013

65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot. Just 12 barrels of this blend are made, aged in neutral oak barrels for 20 months. Winemaker Jason Holman is all about minimal intervention, allowing the complexity of the fruit to shine through. There’s a bit of dirt on the nose, with intense, complex aromas of blackcurrants and plums, licorice, cloves, and nutmeg, figs, and smoke, with a grainy texture on the palate.
