Uncharted Carignan 2016

Carignan is at its best from old vines: these are 96-year-old Lodi vines on the Mule Plain Vineyard, which has been farmed by the same family since the mid-nineteenth century – they have an almanac going back 150 years. Whole-cluster and native yeast fermentation give a lightly carbonic nose and real freshness to the wine, while the concentrated aromas of strawberries and raspberries are pure and ripe, with a bright acidity on the palate.
