Trujillo Cabernet Sauvignon "Gary Morisoli Vineyard Reserve" Rutherford, Napa Valley 2019

Mike Trujillo has a very personal knowledge of the Morisoli vineyard, having worked with it during his days at Sequoia Grove in addition to his 30 plus years of winemaking experience. The grapes are picked in three separate passes and fermentations are done separately. The fruits are dark with blackberries and cassis, but the real star is the caramel and chocolate nougat aromas. Vanilla, Medjool dates and sweet tobacco. Barrel tannins and grape tannins stay coy before turning serious on the finish.
