Acclaimed winemaker Michael Trujillo first released his own Cabernet Sauvignon in 2011, and it has received the plaudits it deserves. The 2014 is particularly expressive of the vintage, warm and upfront but serious. Rich, dense, and concentrated, with oak aromas of smoke, tobacco, cigars, and cloves, a gripping tannic structure, and restrained but welcome fruit aromas of blackcurrants, blackberry, cherry, and plum, rounded out with a long, smooth finish.
