Truchard Zinfandel Napa Carneros 2022

In the cool pockets of the Napa Carneros AVA, famous for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, jammy Zinfandels just don’t exist. The ripe fruit aromas are there, but the high alcohol and chewy qualities are absent, leading to a wine of magnificent fruit, pepper and earth. Bramble fruits of blackberry and raspberry are fresh with black cherry, sloe berries and summer roses. The volcanic-rock hillside and a calculated barrel program provide earth, vanilla and baking spice.
