Trinafour French Colombard "Casa Verde Vineyard" Mendocino County 2020
The Colombard grape is not known for being a complex, long-lived grape, which is why most of it is distilled into Armagnac. Alas, Trinafour seems to have cracked the code for coaxing the grapes full potential out. The Mendocino fruit shows some weight, supporting the acidity that hangs onto the back end of the wine. Crisp pears, white flowers, honeycomb and tart lemon. Somehow, it reminds me of Loire Chenin Blanc?
