Terrien Chardonnay Sonoma Valley 2012

Michael Terrien is part of the Obsidian Ridge project, and he’s passionate about soil and winemaking. We were blown away by his Chardonnay, one of the few Californian examples we would genuinely mistake for Burgundy in a blind tasting. No MLF, so acidity is incredibly fresh and bright, with an oily texture, stone and tropical fruits, and an almond/hazelnut mature nuttiness – this is from 2012 and has a wonderful balance of youth and age. Superb.
