Tenuta Le Calcinaie Vernaccia di San Gimignano 2016

Vernaccia simply means “local grape” and it changes with each area it’s associated with. The beautiful Tuscan town of San Gimignano has the best version, producing crisp, refreshing wines with an attractively bitter finish. Winemaker and owner Simone Santini uses a little bit of skin contact, extended fermentation, and some lees ageing to give the wine floral aromas and a richer, creamier texture to balance the high acidity.
