Stanton Vineyards Petite Sirah St Helena 2015

The Stanton family have been making wine in Napa since 1947, and now 3rd generation Doug Stanton is at the helm. From old head-trained vines, this is classic Petite Sirah: big, bold, inky, rich, and full. Aged in French and US oak, there are lots of ripe, jammy black fruits – blackberry, cherry, plum, blueberry – with spice aromas of black pepper, licorice, cloves, and nutmeg, with a vanilla, coffee texture. Very tannic on the palate to give an extra chewiness. Voluptous.
