Stanton Vineyards Petite Sirah Napa 2019
The Stanton family have been making wine in Napa since 1947, and now 3rd generation Doug Stanton is at the helm. From old head-trained vines, this is classic Petite Sirah: big, bold, inky, rich, and full. Aged in French and American oak, there are lots of ripe, jammy black fruits – blackberry, cherry, plum, blueberry – with spice aromas of black pepper, licorice, cloves, and nutmeg, with a vanilla, coffee texture. While full and bold, the tannins trail off quietly.
