Sottimano "Curra" Barbaresco 2012

From the Currá vineyard at 200-300m elevation south of Neive, known for perfume and elegance. 2012 produced light, graceful wines with high acidity, and this is a superb example of how those wines are quietly ageing. A serious, concentrated nose of dried flowers, fruits, and herbs, smoke, tar, and leather leads into a palate whose tannins are slowly beginning to soften and which are balanced by a still vibrant acidity. Exceptional.
