48% Merlot, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Petit Verdot, 6% Cabernet Franc: the Merlot comes from Mendocino, the Cabernet from Napa. This is a classy homage to Bordeaux, with ripe California fruit that’s not too forward. A very pretty nose of red cherries, plums, blackcurrants, blackberries, roses, and violets, leading into a palate with chewy tannins and fruit, with some sweet spice aromas of cloves and nutmeg coming from the well-integrated oak.
