Somloi Vandor Juhfark Nagy Somloi Hungary 2017

The tiny historical region of Nagy -Somlói is located on an extinct volcano in the north-west corner of Hungary, and is the home of the Juhfark grape; which translates directly as “sheep’s tail”. Organically farmed in basalt, loess, sand, and clay and aged 6 months in 500 L used Hungarian oak. This is both savory and tropical with thyme, earth, honey and wildflowers. There is a touch of smoky minerality, nuttyness, rhubarb and a citrusy finish.
