Shypoke “Corbeau” Charbono Calistoga 2021
The Charbono variety used to be a major player in Napa Valley over 100 years ago with Shypoke proving that Calistoga suites the grape perfectly. While many grapes have come and gone for the Heitz family, Charbono has been planted on the family property since 1904. The muscular grape is dark and inky with purple plums, blackberries, mulberries dark flowers and big structure. More old-world aromas of clay, leather and red fruits suggest the grapes naturally high tannins.
