Shafer Chardonnay "Red Shoulder Ranch" Napa Valley, Carneros 2014

Shafer's Carneros vineyard makes remarkably consistent Chardonnay every year. One of the pioneers of the no-butter Chardonnay craze, and they still make one of the best. Caramel green apples, dried lemon peel, lemon custard, peach cobbler, honey-drizzled citrus. Not "buttery" per se as the ML is almost zero, but it' still viscous, mouth-filling and rich.
