Shafer Cabernet Sauvignon "One Point Five" Stags Leap District, Napa Valley 2013
SKU
727
Two vineyards: Shafer's famous "Hillside" on the property and their vineyard 2 miles south (south end of Stags Leap). 1% Petit Verdot, aged in all new French oak. A reductive nose. Needs a 2 hour decant to blossom. (Better yet, cellar until 2023 and drink through 2030). With ample breathing, get spicy/smoky blueberries, black currants, red and black cherries, vanilla bean, violets and allspice. Has a silky texture - signature quality of Stags Leap District Cabernets."Blueberry, black raspberry and blackcurrant fruit, along with crushed rock and spring flowers. Medium-bodied, stylish and elegant...tannins are soft, the wine pure and ideal for drinking now through 2030." Robert Parker, December 2015
