Sexton Vivier "California Dessert Wine" 2015
Stéphane Vivier is originally from Burgundy, but his grandmother (still alive at 98) is from Cognac, where she sips each evening on a small glass of the local liqueur, Pineau de Charentes. This is Stéphane’s California take: Merlot and Syrah grape must fortified with brandy made from Chardonnay before fermentation begins for a delicious, sweet, and very fresh drink with mirabelle plum, fig, and spice aromas and a gently mouthcoating feel. Perfect in Kir Royale.
