Serol Eclat de Granite Cote Roannaise 2016

Côte Roannaise, one of the most southerly regions in the Loire, is just west of Beaujolais and the wines show a lot of similarities. The soils are granite and clay, the grape is Gamay, fermentation is whole bunch. Lots of bright red fruits (strawberries, raspberries) on the youthful nose, with herbs and spices, giving way to a silky-smooth mouthfeel. This wine is a lot of fun and very drinkable.
