Much respect to former MLB Champion Joe Blanton’s hands-on approach to his wine label, overseeing every step of the business, but wisely trusting Thomas Rivers-Brown to work his talents into the grapes. The vineyard is located around 1700 feet on Howell Mountain, with the mountain fruit responding to extreme well to 18 months in 80% new French oak. Damson plum, blue fruits and vanilla, with a creamy texture you can almost smell. Violets, bitter chocolate, full bodied and capable of being cracked tonight or aging gracefully.howel
