Scherrer Zinfandel Alexander Valley 2017

The vines for the ‘Old & Mature Vines’ Zinfandel were planted in 1912 representing the families three generations in Sonoma. Toeing the line of jamminess, the wine never crosses it, instead showing ripeness and restrained weight on the palate. Dark fruits of plums, blackberries and blueberries are lifted with aromas of violets and herbs. Large barrels are used to “break-in” the fruit while also highlighting a “Rutherford Dust” quality.
