In north-east Italy, not too far from Slovenia, Fruili transformed Italian white winemaking, making crisp, fresh wines from local as well as international varieties. This Sauvignon is a particularly impressive example: ripe peach, nectarine, and apricot, with a round, gripping texture, finished with chamomile tea and dried herb aromas. Serve a little bit warmer with a spinach and feta frittata flavored with mint, dill, oregano, and parsley. Delicious.
