Refosco is a whole family of grapes found across northern Italy, and which spreads across the border into Slovenia. This comes from fruit grown on the coast just across from Trieste. A very attractive wine at an insane price (for one liter too), with aromas of red cherry, strawberry, plum, and blackberry, wild flowers, licorice, and clove with really lively acidity and a good earthy grip. A steal.
