Salvatore Molettieri Taurasi "Vigna Cinque Querce" 2010

Taurasi is one of the most prestigious wine regions in southern Italy. Vineyards are planted on difficult volcanic soil at high elevation with hot days and cool nights. The grape is Aglianico – expect high acidity and tannins and incredible ageworthiness. This is a classic example, still a baby even though it’s from 2010. Aromas of raspberry, dried strawberry, fig, prune, clove, and nutmeg lead on to a balanced, complex palate with grainy tannins and a very long finish.
