This is a reserva from the "Vigna Cinque Terce" in Campania, southern Italy, not far from Mount Vesuvius. Clay/calcareous soils, 2.2 tons per acre in yield. Feremented in stainless steel then aged 4 years in a combination of barriques and large oak casks. At ten years of age, this is still a young pup, showing dark berry/cherry liqueur, anise, allspice, sweet earth and peppercorn smells and flavors. Medium acidity, soft tannins. Shows more fruit than oak. 45 second finish of liqueur, barrel and earthy spice.
