Russiz Superiore Cabernet Franc Collio 2017

Property dating back to the 1200s at the top of the Russiz hills (hence the name Russiz Superiore) overlooking the Collio region in Friuli. This is an area which specializes in Cabernet Franc, as this attractive, involved wine attests. A very characteristic Cab Franc nose of red fruits, capsicum, blackcurrant leaf, and sweet spice, followed by lively acidity and grainy tannins on the palate. Fuller than a Loire equivalent, but not as rich as California.
