This is a blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Sagrantino, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. It was aged 12 months in a combination of French oak barriques, Slovenian oak botti and stainless steel. Medium-bodied and herbaceous. You'll taste tart cherry, plum, apple skin, blueberry, anise and dried herbs on the minerally finish. Assertive acid and grippy tannins. Chicken braised in red wine sounds like a lovely pairing.
