Roagna Pira Barolo Piedmont 2016

There are so many things about Roagna that make it so special.  It's a premier organic estate with this Pira coming from a monopole in Castiglione Falletto with vines ranging from 25 to 50 years of age. The wine is typically aged 5 years in neutral botti with zero toast (just steam).  Deep, black cherry, roses, baking spice, orange zest, licorice, cranberry, and Langhe scrub are all expressed along its tightly wound structure. Huge scores too!
