Ramirez de la Piscina Rioja Crianza 2019

Old family based near Haro and making classic, old-school Rioja, all 100% Tempranillo. The wine spends 14 months in American oak, plus another 2 years in bottle to produce a generous but balanced crianza with aromas of ripe red fruits (strawberry, raspberry), licorice, leather, oak, and game. Such a great price for a wine of great structure and depth. Very approachable but it does not carry the ripeness of many others in the price range.
