Queen of the Sierra by Forlorn Hope White Blend Calaveras County 2021

This is an unusual Sierra Foothills blend of Verdelho, Chardonnay, and Riesling as well as a small amount of German/Alsatian varietals. They come together for a fresh, nervy, delicate style that’s filled out with touches of creamy richness, citrus aromas of lime and lemon zest and a lightly spicy mouthfeel of white pepper and ginger. Tropical flavors such as starfruit, banana, and mango want to break out, but are kept in check by a restrained note of grapefruit.
