Puppione Family Wines “Volta” GSM California 2021

When told the Grenache (40%) was from Chalone, I secretly prayed it was from the Brousseau Vineyard. Luckily, prayers were answered, and an exceptional GSM was made. The Mourvèdre is from the Rodnick Vineyard in Chalone and the Syrah (40%) comes from the Russian River Valley. The purple fruits are unadulterated, while red roses give the wine a pretty style and lighter notes of underbrush play a supporting role.
