Portal Terra Alta Celler Pinol 2013

50% Garnacha, 20% Carignane, 10% each Merlot, Syrah and Tempranillo. Terra Alta: Spanish wine region near the more famous Priorat in Catalonia, not far from Barcelona. Famous for heady, robust, good value red wines. This is big on flavor and still "friendly." (gentle tannins, med/low acidity). Get blueberries, black cherries, violets, light spice, just a little oak. Very versatile with food. Tomato sauces, roast/braised meats and root veggies.
