Pittnauer "Pitti" Burgenland 2016
SKU
4212
A blend of Zweigelt, one of its parents, Blaufränkisch, and a little bit of Merlot. Burgenland producer Gerhard Pittnauer uses biodynamic practices and believes a wine should express the purity of the fruit rather than overt winemaking. That’s what we get here: a very pretty, floral nose with strawberries, red cherries, and plums, with a slight peppered meatiness. The palate has a nice round mouthfeel, with gripping, grainy tannins. Think of this as Beaujolais with a bit more bite.
