Peza do Rei Mencia Ribeira Sacra 2020

The vines of the Ribeira Sacra D.O. are works of wonder, clinging to the granite hillsides overlooking the Sil river. Based almost entirely off Mencia with small additions of Merenzao, Tempranillo, Sousón and Garnacha, the wine shows glimpses of ripeness underneath its taut acidity and low ABV. Autumn flavors and aromas of cranberries, roasted butternut squash, and dried flowers give a wet climate feel to the red plum, dried flowers and woodsy/stemmy flavors.  A sensual balance of bass and treble.
