Paul Jaboulet-Aine "Les Sauvgeres" St-Peray 2016

St. Péray is one of the northern Rhône’s overlooked appellations, producing excellent white (as well as sparkling) wine. This is 100% Marsanne, and a classic, ageworthy representation of the grape. Aged in 50% concrete eggs and 20% new oak, there’s a balanced richness to the wine with aromas of roasted almond, wax, oil, grapefruit, white peach, jasmine, and white pepper, with a creamy, mineral, grainy texture on the palate.
