Pascal Janvier Jasnieres 2016
Of the many Chenin Blanc appellations in the Loire, Jasnières gets unfairly overlooked. It lies north-west of Vouvray and is the coolest region in the Loire. The wines are dry, acidic, and intense. One of the best producers there is Pascal Janvier and this is a great introduction to the region: a very waxy nose with aromas of honeycomb, almonds, and peaches, with a nice, fresh, juicy, chewy palate. Drink with scallops.
