Pascal Janvier "Cuvee du Rosier" Coteaux du Loir 2017

Your first reaction on seeing this wine may be what’s a rosé doing in the red wine section. Well, that’s because despite it’s pale color this is a delicate, light-bodied, but very serious red wine. The grape is Pineau d’Aunis, the region Coteaux du Loir in the northern part of the Loire Valley. The cool climate results in subtly irresistible wines like this: herbaceous, smoke, spice, earth, redcurrant, and strawberry aromas with high acidity and a good grip.
